An 11-year-old artist claimed that when orders to depict clients’ homes poured in, she was “overwhelmed.” Alice, a resident of Riseley, Bedfordshire, painted her own house and then volunteered to paint other homes in her community for £1 after being encouraged by her parents.
Getting 60 orders, she claimed, had been “joyful to do.”
One of Suzette Lightning’s watercolors was bought, and Suzette Lightning commented that it was “beautiful” and “captured the charm of our very old cottage.”
According to Alice, who primarily utilizes pencils and watercolors, she has always loved to sketch.
“Mom said it was extremely good when I drew our house one day, so I drew two more houses in the town and delivered them with a note on the reverse,” the child recalls.
She claimed they thanked her and advised her to post an offer of her services on the village’s Facebook page, where she received 60 requests, which left her feeling “glad, delighted, and surprised.”
“I never anticipated receiving this many requests; it has been both enjoyable and overwhelming.”
Her mother, Caroline, expressed her satisfaction and pride in what she had accomplished and her style.
“In her own unique style, she manages to portray the charm and beauty of the house.
We’re quite impressed with her entrepreneurship abilities and the level of interest her paintings have generated. I believe they’re wonderful.
In 2020, Ms. Lightning and Mark Steadman relocated to the community in north Bedfordshire and were “shocked” by her work.
According to Ms. Lightning,
“She has captured the charm of our very old home with plenty of exquisite detail, including the postbox in our front garden.”
She is a very gifted young woman, and we are aware of several other residents who are thrilled with their artwork.
If her small cottage industry is any indication, she will be a highly successful businesswoman as she gets older.
Grant Harvey claimed that after viewing some of her previous artwork, he felt it was “wonderful” and immediately placed an order.
“We are overjoyed with the image that now adorns a wall in our home.”
Currently, according to Alice, painting is only a hobby and a way to supplement her income.
After completing all of the commissions, she declared, “I’m going to take a break and then perhaps tackle another village.”
