Born on July 26, 2010, 13-year-old Shreyas Hareesh went to Bengaluru’s Kensri School.
He was already being hailed as a budding star in motorcycle racing, despite his youth.
Shreyas has won multiple races across the country, including four straight this season on the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship rookie circuit.
Shreyas Hareesh won his race and became the youngest racer in history at the age of thirteen.
Furthermore, he had participated in the MiniGP held in Spain earlier in the year, achieving remarkable results of fifth and third.
But tragedy happened on Saturday at the Madras International Circuit during Shreyas’ participation in the third round of the Indian National Championship.
He started from pole position, but at Turn 1, he went down and broke his neck.
After his collapse, the race was immediately called off. Sadly, Shreyas was declared dead upon arriving at the hospital despite being taken there in a hurry.
Thus, even though he was setting records and showcasing his talent on the track at such a young age, the tragedy that occurred after he took the lead in the race tragically ended his life.
