The medical professionals immediately determined that the unborn child would be too big for her to carry to full term, so the C-section was performed the next day, and Angerson was delivered, according to the Daily Mail.

Pessoa said to O Globo, “We are just feeling delighted, happiness, and thanks for everything working out in this case,” emphasizing that the baby’s size made it a “unusual” and “risky” situation.

The majority of full-term newborns (39 to 40 weeks gestation) weigh between 6 and 9 pounds, according to the American Pregnancy Association.

While speaking with O Globo, Dos Santos expressed her gratitude to her medical team for the care she and Angerson are getting.

The OBGYN at Hospital Padre Colombo, where Angerson was delivered, Dr. Artemisia Pessoa, said that neonates of Angerson’s size usually have respiratory issues and high blood sugar levels, making their lives more difficult than those of newborns of normal weight.
