Biography

The Vietnamese-American family physician is Tran Jeong. She is married to actor Ken Jeong, who in The Hangover film series is known for his portrayal of Ben Chang in the sitcom Group and the gangster Leslie Chow. Tran’s parents are Vietnamese, but she was raised in the U.S. She graduated from UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and practiced for nearly two decades as a family physician. She met Ken, who was one of her colleagues, in 2002, while working at Kaiser Permanente in West California. Before getting married in 2004, they dated for two years. Tran has twin daughters, Zooey and Alexa, with her husband. In 2008, approximately a year after their children were born, Tran was diagnosed with breast cancer. Afterward, she underwent 16 sessions of chemotherapy and a mastectomy. Later, radiation therapy was used to treat her. Her husband acted as her caregiver during the entire ordeal. Her doctors told her in October 2010 that she was cancer-free. Tran Jeong and her family are now living in Los Angeles, California, and she has an internship in Woodland Hills, California.
