Melinda Coleman’s family consists of her husband, son, and daughter

Melinda Coleman and her husband, Michael Wayne Coleman, met in the mid-1980s and early 1990s. Though the timeline of their relationship is unknown, the couple married on June 29, 1991.

The couple had three sons, Charles Forest Coleman, Logan Michael Coleman, and Tristan Ash Coleman, as well as a daughter, Catherine ‘Daisy’ Coleman. While her three sons were not in the spotlight, her daughter’s sexual assault and rape story was widely publicized.

Daisy, a Maryville High School student, was raped in March 2012 by two then-17-year-olds after they forced her to drink alcohol. One of the 17-year-olds raped her while the other recorded the incident on his cell phone.

Later, the family discovered their daughter unconscious on the family’s front porch. Melinda accused the Nodaway County authorities of denying her daughter justice.

However, in their defense, the prosecutor for Nodaway County claimed that there was insufficient evidence to pursue the charges. Furthermore, they claimed that Melinda and her daughter had stopped cooperating with authorities.

The Kansas City Star published the findings of a seven-month investigation, which drew new attention to the case. Later, the family’s home was destroyed by fire after they relocated to Northwest Missouri.

Melinda’s husband was killed in a car accident in 2007. He was both a doctor and a bodybuilder. He earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience and completed his residency at Park Lane Medical Center.
