Scott Gottlieb, M.D., is an American physician who served as the Food and Drug Administration’s 23rd Commissioner (FDA). From May 2017 through April 2019, he worked for the FDA. Scott is a partner with New Enterprise Associates, a venture capital firm. He also serves on the board of directors of Pfizer, Inc., a multinational pharmaceutical firm. Scott has also been involved in several other projects.
Gottlieb was born in New Jersey, United States, on June 11, 1972, to Dr. Stanley (father) and Marsha Gottlieb (mother). Scott, who is 48 years old, is of Jewish descent. Wesleyan University awarded him a bachelor’s degree in economics. Gottlieb also finished his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital.
