NBA

On July 11, 2019, Allen was ejected from an NBA Summer League game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Boston Celtics after committing back-to-back flagrant fouls that commentators referred to as “cheap shots.”
On August 5, 2020, Allen had 20 points, a career-high six 3-pointers, two rebounds, and one assist in 26 minutes of action against the Utah Jazz.
On December 16, 2020, Memphis announced that they had exercised their team option on Allen for the 2021–2022 seasons.
On August 6, 2021, the Grizzlies traded Allen to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Sam Merrill and two future second-round draft picks. “Grayson is a gifted point guard,” said the Bucks’ general manager, Jon Horst. We’re excited to have him here because of his three-point shooting, intensity, tenacity, and basketball IQ.” On October 18, Allen agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the Bucks.
Controversy
Grayson Allen, who was acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies in a trade earlier this summer, has agreed to a two-year, $20 million rookie contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. Allen is expected to start in the backcourt alongside Jrue Holiday until Donte DiVincenzo returns from injury. However, DiVincenzo’s return to the starting lineup was far from certain, and now that Allen has signed the contract, he may be even more likely to sit.
Members of the 2018 draft class, which includes both Allen and DiVincenzo, had until Tuesday to sign a contract extension or become restricted free agents in the summer. While the situation with DiVincenzo is far more complicated, the Bucks and DiVincenzo were able to reach an agreement on a two-year, $20 million contract that will begin in the 2022-23 season.
