Until his death in August 2002, he appeared in 132 episodes of the soap opera. He played the Young Grinch in the famous film How the Grinch Stole Christmas in 2000. Throughout his career, he was nominated for numerous accolades, including a Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series” and a Young Artist Award for “Best Performance in A Soap Opera – Young Actor.” He also received three Soap Opera Digest Awards: “Favorite Scene Stealer” (2000), “Outstanding Male Scene Stealer” (2001), and a YoungStar Award for “Best Young Actor/Performance in a Daytime TV Series” (2000).

Josh Ryan Evans died in August of 2002. The Passions episode in which Timmy dies broadcast on the same day. He was honored in this episode.

When and how did he die?

Unfortunately, this wonderful actor passed away on August 5, 2002. According to accounts, he died during a medical procedure in San Diego after complications from a congenital cardiac problem, the nature of which is unknown. As a memorial to him, the death sequence of his character Timmy, which had been taped before his death, was played on the day he died, bringing many admirers to tears.
