Controversy
During the Trump campaign in 2016, Dan tweeted this photograph of Hillary Clinton with a “star of David” sticker claiming she was the most corrupt candidate, which was later removed. Later, the Trump team confirmed and justified it, claiming that it was a sheriff’s badge.
Later, in 2017, he was accused by Richard Painter of breaking the Hatch Act of 1939 by engaging in election activities as an executive brand member. He had tweeted from his personal account, criticizing the other defeated contender, Justin Amash. The US office of a special counsel cautioned him. Later, it was discovered that he routinely tweets from Trump’s account at a specified time period.
