Tyra recently married Wisconsin basketball player Brad Davison. The couple is planning to marry in July of this year. They just spoke with Tom Brew of Sports Illustrated Indiana about their future ambitions. Tyra originally caught Brad’s eye while working as a color commentator on the Big Ten network. They began dating after meeting on the social internet. The couple had a long-distance romance for a few years before becoming engaged.
Tyra Buss- Professional Career
Tyra began her career in high school as a member of the school team. She attended her high school for four years and earned numerous awards, including Gatorade Player of the Year, Ms. Basketball Honor, National High School Coaches Association Girls Basketball Player of the Year, and others. She later attended Indiana University Bloomington, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team. During her four-year college basketball career, she broke several records and set many others. From 2014 until 2018, she also became the all-time leading scorer with over 2364 points. In her sophomore year, she was named first-team all-Big Ten, and in her senior year, she was named CoSIDA academic all-district. She led the club to the WNIT title in 2018 and was voted the postseason WNIT’s most valuable player for her efforts.
The same year, Tyra was also named to an exclusive list of honors. She went on to serve as a color analyst for the Big Ten Network after graduating. After completing her collegiate education, she went on to become a coach and worked as an assistant coach at the University of Evansville, where she coached for one season and helped the team win three games. Tyra joined the University of Milwaukee as an assistant coach in June 2021 and is presently working under coach Kyle Rechlicz, who is very fond of her and desires to guide her to become one of the most successful young basketball coaches. She was also recently featured on the BTN network hosting a women’s sports report on the Big Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will be hosted in Indianapolis in 2020.
