She held these positions from 2004 to 2013. She was the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs at the United States Department of State’s Bureau of African Affairs from 2013 to 2017. Linda Thomas Greenfield was fired later that year as a result of the Trump administration. She was selected as a voluntary member of President-elect Joe Biden’s agency team three years later.
