Kareem Abdul is a retired professional basketball player from the United States who was born on April 16, 1947. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers for the whole 20-year career.
In addition, he is a six-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), a 19-time NBA All-Star, a 15-time All-NBA pick, and an 11-time NBA All-Defensive Team member. He was also named one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of All Time. His retirement was completed in 1989, at the age of 42. He was the NBA’s all-time leading scorer at the time. President of the United States Barack Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
