Jacoby earned a management and marketing degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 2000. He received three Emmy nominations, one National Magazine Award nomination, a slew of Webby nominations, and two EPPY Awards for his work at Grantland.
David Jacoby was a development executive at ESPN before joining Grantland. It’s The Shoes was his first show, which he created, piloted, and produced. He eventually created SportsNation, as well as several other television shows that are still in production today.
The Most Lovely Wife
For any husband, his wife is undoubtedly the most wonderful person in the world, but Jacoby never misses an opportunity to tell the world about his wife’s wonderful nature.
Some of the common adjectives he uses to describe his wife include “amazing wife,” “an amazing mother,” and “amazing beauty.” On May 9, 2021, he took to Instagram at random to praise his wonderful wife.
He stated,
“The most caring mother Momed ever had, the most breathtaking beauty, the kindest creature, the boss…my wife”

Motherly love, indeed!
Jacoby is married to Joie Jacoby and has three children with her. David’s happy family consists of five members: his beautiful wife, their son Quincy, born in 2013, and their twin daughters Margret and Chlor, born in 2018.
Although David attributes much of the charming beauty around him to his wife, he is no less charming himself. Looking at him, he does not appear to be older than 20 years old. That might be a stretch for some, but he is one handsome gentleman.
The family of five posed for a photo from the Jurassic World Live Tour on February 21, 2020. The entire family shared sweet smiles and appeared to be as happy as ever. Life is hectic for David’s wife, who is a mother of three grown-up children. She has, however, found the perfect balance to maintain stability in her professional life as well.
The ESPN producer-wife commentator is also a director and a producer. She is best known for directing the television documentary Return to Mexico City. She recently completed two documentaries, Glad You Asked, Shark Attack Investigation: The Paige Winter Story, and Wendy Williams: What a Mess!
While his wife is busy directing incredible docuseries and films, Jacoby is a producer of his shows Grantland and It’s The Shoes.
However, few people are aware that he has more than one or two roles on the ESPN network.
A Veteran of ESPN
Jacoby has been with the network for over two decades. Despite being a producer and commentator, he also co-hosts Jalen & Jacoby and appears as a guest host on other shows such as SportsNation.
In 2011, he launched his passion project, the Jalen and Jacoby podcast, under ESPN’s Grantland banner, which quickly became a massive hit. As a result, the show now has its own YouTube channel.
But Jacoby’s dream projects were just getting started. His podcase grew into a late-night TV show that landed an afternoon slot on ESPN2. Before all of this, he was an executive producer at ESPN’s Grantland. He created and produced all of the show’s successful content, including the primetime television show Grantland Basketball Hour and Grantland Features.
Jalen & Jacoby currently airs on ESPN at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.
