He graduated from Olathe Northwest High School and then attended Johnson County Community College (Overland Park, KS), Wichita State University (Wichita, KS), and lastly the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, AR). Initially, he enrolled at Wichita State and received enrollment offers from Kansas State, Missouri State, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, and Xavier.

- A career in High School
Brady Slavens was coached by Rick Setter while playing high school football. Perfect Game ranked him as the top shortstop in the state of Kansas. Prep Baseball Report ranked him as the #1 overall player and shortstop in the state of Kansas. Among the many honors and awards, he received in high school were Perfect Game Preseason All-American honors in 2019, and Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American honors in 2018.
First-team all-state and first-team All-USA Today as a junior in high school sports, and Team’s offensive MVP in 2018 while playing as a junior for the high school after batting.391 with 10 doubles, two home runs, and four triples. He was a member of the sub-state championship teams in 2017 and 2018, and he also played basketball as a freshman in high school.
- 2019 Wichita State Freshman Season
While still committed to Wichita State, he appeared in 46 games and made 38 starts his freshman year. He set a record with a.218 batting average, 32 hits, 20 runs, and four doubles, as well as one home run, 21 walks, 23 RBIs, and four stolen bases. During the season, he had 8 multi-hit and 7 multi-hit RBI games, as well as 3 RBI performances against Oral Roberts (12th March) and East Carolina (21st May).

He is one of the Arkansas designated hitters that launched a solo home run 436 feet in the semi-finals versus Ole Miss. He hit the big home run with 2-1, prompting NCAA baseball officials to tweet that it was the farthest run made in the collegiate world series in 2022.
