Phil Mickelson intends to relocate from Jupiter Island, Florida, to San Diego, California. Although Mickelson and his wife Amy have purchased a property on the famous island, development has not yet started, according to Mickelson.
Phil said to Golfweek, “We still have to build. We have plenty. We haven’t yet added to it. Phil will be in close proximity to some of the most well-known golfers in the world if he relocates to Jupiter Island.
Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, and numerous other athletes reside on the Island. Jupiter Island is one of golf enthusiast Donald Trump’s winter weekend destinations.
Mickelson has already joined The Grove XXIII, Michael Jordan’s private golf club. He said that he sees his membership in the invite-only club as a terrific method to train and play golf on The Dan Patrick Show. Mickelson declared:
“You need an invitation. Fortunately, I know several of the locals, and my wife and I recently purchased a parcel that is only a 10- to 15-minute drive away. Thus, it will be a perfect location for practice and play.
The State’s tax regulations might have motivated Phil to relocate to Jupiter Island
When queried by Golfweek about the reasons for his transfer, a coy Phil replied, “A lot of nice stuff around the area.” But Phil made a statement in 2013 that might help explain why he moved to Florida. Paul stated:
“There will be some significant adjustments for me since I’m in the area that’s been targeted by the state and the federal government, and it doesn’t work for me at the moment. I must therefore alter my behavior.
Given that Florida does not have a state income tax, the tax rate in California is likely higher than in Florida. Phil won’t be the first golfer to relocate to Florida as a result of the tax regulations in that state. Tiger Woods stated in 2013: “I left here back in ’96 for that reason.”
