We do know, though, that she made some of her wedding arrangements while she was reporting on the 2011 Libyan civil war.
She told TVNewser, “I ended up making wedding plans on a satellite phone in the middle of Libya while rockets were flying through the night air overhead when I eventually said yes to the wonderful man in my life.
She said that her spouse was concerned that she wouldn’t survive the battle. Sara said, “He wasn’t joking, and I was truly afraid I would not make it.
Sara’s line of work rarely permits her to stay put for a prolonged amount of time. She acknowledges that while she likes to travel, discover new places, and learn about various cultures, her job prevents her from spending as much time with her family as she would want. She clarified:
“I love to travel. Nearly more than anything else, I love to learn about different cultures, customs, and traditions. The individuals that live there have given me the best education the planet has to offer. The difficult part is not moving around. The difficulty is living an exclusively work-related life. It is quite difficult for the family.
Sara Sidner has covered a lot of pain
She has covered a lot of pain, but the anguish she witnessed in hospitals in downtown Los Angeles in early January 2021 broke her heart.
Sara was working on a project about the racial divide in America when the coronavirus first appeared. She eventually made it to Seattle, where she reported on the precarious circumstances in a local nursing home.
She admitted to Glamour that it was the first time in her professional career that she experienced terror while covering a dangerous event. Because we still didn’t know how the virus was transmitted, she continued, “I felt tremendous anxiety.”
Sara began to interact with others who were afflicted by the virus more frequently as the year progressed and it spread like wildfire across America. She spent time with doctors, nurses, and relatives of patients who were ill with the ailment, and some of her family members caught the illness. When she sobbed in front of the camera, all the emotion she felt became apparent. She stated to Glamour:
“When I started crying, it was clear that I had reached a limit that I wasn’t even aware I had. I couldn’t lie or seem like everything was good. The problem with this new coronavirus rise and the crisis in the Capitol both came to a climax as I watched them both develop. I was simply so angry when I heard folks say, “I had no idea this was possible.
Sara Sidner said she understood the man’s request for the media
As Sara reported the Daunte Wright protests, a man in a camouflage jacket said, “Y’all be twisting up the story.” The individual said that Sidner and the other media outlets had misrepresented the protests. It gets worse because of all the press and the extra crap you guys do, he remarked. People are made to “appear all crazier than what the fuck they are,” the man claimed, by the media.
Following the most recent riots, the media has once again been accused of exaggerating the damage caused by skirmishes between protestors and police. That explains why the man was upset with the media. Get out of here, he commanded.
Sara told The Washington Post that she agreed with the man’s claims and that she enjoyed speaking with him on air.
According to Sara, “If someone is offended, it’s part of the tale, and sometimes they go after the media and have their perspective.”
Sidner, however, denied the man’s claim that she is a newcomer to the Minneapolis region. She claims to have spent a lot of time in the neighborhood; Sara covered the aftermath of the shooting death of Jamar Clark, a Black unarmed man, in 2015. She also stayed in Minneapolis for several weeks after Prince’s passing.
