Jamie Lee Curtis, who recently starred in Halloween Ends, recently discussed her involvement with the Halloween series since appearing in the original movie in 1981.
With Halloween Ends, Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise her role as Laurie Strode for the final time. The actress, whose career with the slasher film series began in 1981, has experienced an incredible journey. At the age of 63, Curtis is saying farewell to the principal role she has played in the franchise’s most important movies. Amid the spooky season, Halloween Ends debuts in theaters.
Halloween Ends, the 13th installment of the Halloween series and a direct continuation of 2021’s Halloween Kills, is helmed by David Gordon Green.
Laurie Strode, a high school student who is targeted by serial murderer Michael Myers / The Shape on Halloween night, was played by the actress who launched her career with John Carpenter’s Halloween in 1981.
Jamie Lee Curtis on meeting Laurie “Full Circle”
Before the debut of her new movie, Curtis reminisced on her experience with the Halloween series and remarked, “In 1978, we spent 17 days doing that first movie for nothing.
But there was something that has persisted for 44 years at its core. Since I reunited with Laurie Strode for this new trilogy, I’ve spent a lot of time wondering, “Why me? Why her? Why has Laurie and Michael’s relationship endured the test of time? “ I’ve finally realized, accepted, and fully realized that Laurie is and always has been everyone’s best hope for the possibility of a happy existence.”
She went on to say how Laurie depicts many kinds of connections, adding, “She embodies the sister, best friend, daughter, niece, and grandchild of everyone. Nobody is more aware than Laurie that she is a personification of a life cut short; a survivor who has dedicated her life to avoiding letting an unfathomable evil determine her course and define who she is.”
James Jude Courtney, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, and Kyle Richards are featured in Halloween Ends as well. Jamie was recently seen on the red carpet with her kids, Ruby Guest, and Annie Guest, at the film’s star-studded premiere in Los Angeles.
Curtis explained why she wore a sparkly red dress to the occasion in a post with photographs from the premiere, adding, “I knew it was the one to END @halloweenmovie with.” Halloween Ends debuts in Indian theaters on October 14.
