Zoe Saldana spoke candidly about the moment she found out she had been cast in the Avatar movie. The casting of Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully and Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri, who gave their best performances in the movie, helped Avatar become one of the most successful films of all time. Because their journey continues in the movie’s sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, the pair will also be back.
Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Stephen Lang, and director James Cameron attended a global press conference where Pinkvilla participated in honor of the restored version of the original movie, Avatar, reopening in theaters.
During the same interview, Zoe Saldana, who won the lead role of Neytiri in the movie, spoke candidly about her experience working on the movie and the special moment when she found out she would be in it.
Saldana commented, “I realize that your question was specific to my recollections of filming the movie, but I can’t forget getting that phone call from Jim saying, “I want you to play Neytiri,” when asked about the moment she found out she had landed the part.
I’ve never enjoyed changing a filthy diaper as much as I did changing that diaper while I was on the phone with Jim, Saldana continued as she changed my niece’s dirty diaper at the moment.
When discussing her role and what she found fascinating about it, she said, “Working beside my hero was an honor. like Ellen Ripley and, you know, the creator of Sarah Connor Then it hit me: “Oh, I have to get to work.”
She shoots an arrow, does martial arts, climbs trees, and does all of these things, so you can imagine the excitement of wanting to enroll in school and the uncertainty of how everything would fit together.”
On September 23, Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time, will receive a second theatrical release. The follow-up to the movie, Avatar: The Way of Water, hits theaters in December of this year.
