The latest honorary knights appointed by the late Queen Elizabeth II were the composer of Star Wars John Williams and the former CEO of Disney Bob Iger.
Williams, 91, received a citation for his contributions to cinema music, and Iger was honored for his work on US-UK relations.
The chef and TV host Ken Hom was also named to the honors list, which was released on Friday.
His charitable activity, culinary skills, and education have earned him recognition.
Williams, who is regarded as one of the best cinema composers in the world, has received countless honors throughout his long career, including five Oscars.
In addition to Jaws, ET, the Harry Potter movies, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, and the Indiana Jones trilogy, he also composed the scores for many other popular movies.
More recently, he wrote the score for The Fabelmans, a favorite for the next awards season and another Steven Spielberg biography film.
The Diplomatic Service and Overseas List, which recognizes service abroad or in the UK with a significant international component, is under the control of the Foreign Office. Additionally, the foreign secretary recommends honorary awards for foreign nationals.
The list would subsequently be legally approved by the Queen, or currently, King Charles III and letters would be issued to each candidate. The list is officially approved if a nominee accepts the suggested honor.
