Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Star Paul of Kim’s Convenience, has been married to his wife Anna for over two decades.
Lee and Anna have both spoken about their relationship and revealed the secret to their happy marriage.
When speaking to Streets of Toronto in 2017, the actor and his wife recounted how they met and got together.
Anna revealed they first met through a mutual friend/couple.
“Paul was at a bar with a friend who was a downer. I was out with some college friends. “Paul called our mutual friends to see what they had planned for the evening,” she recalled.
“Meanwhile, I almost didn’t go to the bar with them, but I went anyway… We met, made each other laugh, exchanged numbers, and the rest, as they say, is history.”

Lee and his wife also discussed their first official date. Anna revealed that the date had taken them all over Toronto.
They had dinner at the Hot Tomato, followed by a drink at the Living Well. The pair then went to Havana Blues, a martini and cigar lounge.
“There was a lot of walking, talking, and laughing,” she said, adding that Lee had brought the new Tom Waits CD from a record store stop.
Anna revealed that Lee introduced her to wide-screen movies, games like Golden Eye, and sci-fi as they grew closer. “I had a great time watching movies and playing video games on my tiny TV in my Kensington Market basement apartment.”
Family and Marriage
Lee and his wife married on December 31, 1999, just hours before the year 2000 began.
Because Anna was “sick as a dog,” the actor admitted that the proposal wasn’t as romantic as he had hoped.
Lee and Anna married on August 25, 2001, in Toronto, a year and a half after their proposal. Their honeymoon was spent in Orlando, Florida.
Since then, the couple has welcomed two sons, Noah and Miles.
When speaking with CBC about his family, Lee revealed that his older son Noah looks a lot like him.
“My eldest Noah is into all things nerdy, such as Star Paul, which is awesome,” he explained. “He’s like a mini-me of me, and I think that’s why we butt heads so much because we’re so similar.”
Miles, Lee’s younger son, was so “not [him]” because he was so physical and athletic. He also mentioned Miles’ geeky interests, which included stop-motion animation and drawing.
Even though Lee believes Miles is different from him, the two continue to share their interests.
The Kim’s Convenience star recently took to Instagram to share photos of himself and his youngest son having fun while browsing the Toys”R” Us Canada catalog.
