Sheryl Underwood, co-host of The Talk, recently opened out about her fight to lose 95 pounds in an interview with People. The TV star transformed to mark her 59th birthday during the current episode of her show.

The presenter was observed donning a striking purple gown, and she revealed to the newspaper that she tried on ten different costumes before discovering the one that gave her the “Dorothy Effect.”

She wished to wear a dress that “really represented the effort” she had expended on her weight loss quest. “I want to show the world and the audience that they, too, can do it,” Underwood added.

In Underwood’s weight loss quest, crossing her legs while wearing the outfit was an emotional high point. She said that Natalie Morales and Amanda Kloots, her friends and fellow hosts, were also on the weight-loss program.

Sheryl Underwood continued by stating that she now desires recognition for the effort she has made to get her ideal physique. Since she has worked so hard on her physique, she claimed that she wanted to “walk into a church and all those saints fanning out like, ‘Oh, she looks amazing,'” She also expressed the desire to walk into a bar or restaurant and command everyone’s attention.

The Daytime Emmy Award winner added that she is happy with her makeover since “looking gorgeous makes you feel good.”

Sheryl Underwood recently revealed that, after making some big health changes, she lost more than 90 pounds in 2017. She revealed to ET that she and her teammates started working on their health and fitness together before the premiere of the 13th season of the show.

She decided to join in and work on herself after observing her friends and coworkers putting a lot of effort into their health and well-being. Underwood went on to say

The TV celebrity, however, had to take into account her persistent health issues before starting her weight-loss journey. Before starting a general fitness adventure, Underwood said she first addressed her intestinal health.

In addition to reducing weight, she had to contend with diabetes, high blood pressure, and “all the other problems women suffer with.” The media personality reportedly feels “great” about her transformation and is eager to work out with her The Talk co-hosts. She reportedly had plans to jump rope with Kloots and go to the gym with Jerry O’Connell and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila.

Sheryl Underwood provided further information about her weight loss treatment in an interview with People. When she weighed between 230 and 250 pounds and her doctor ordered tests for pre-diabetes and hypertension, she claimed she started her adventure.

Sheryl added that despite having a bariatric surgery scheduled, she opted to try Wegovy injections instead. The weekly injection was given FDA approval in June 2021 to aid in appetite control.

She also tried other everyday activities including portion control and injection. Sheryl Underwood replied that she was planning a surgical operation but that she would first “go through the psychiatrist” and then a dietitian. Sheryl Underwood said that working with a dietician had helped her lose weight. She did lose enough weight, even if it was not a significant amount, that “insurance was not going to pay for it.”

She also agreed to alter her lifestyle by sleeping more, drinking more water, and choosing better foods. According to Underwood, she started eating more berries, blues, and other berries, as well as green, leafy vegetables and fiber-rich fruits like strawberries and blueberries.

Sheryl Underwood increased the number of fundamental exercises in her routine despite the challenges of her schedule:

“Unfortunately, I work in a field where you have to drive to work, sit down, and dress up.” I’ll occasionally just get up and move around, try to talk on the phone while doing so, or work on anything while sitting in bed. I might stretch or work out.

The actress from The Beauty Shop also claimed that, despite her regimen, she leads a “quality” life and can still have fun by making a few small adjustments. She admitted that she was still consuming cake and rosé, but in smaller amounts, and that she had to pair her rosé with water.

The 59-year-old added that because it’s “not just on-camera vanity,” but also health and fitness, she is now more conscious of her “face blowing up.” Sheryl Underwood declared that she had lost weight, calling it a “great sensation,” and she intended to keep going.
