Ava Michelle, the lead actress of Tall Girl, opened out about the devastating loss she endured in February 2021, when Devan, who was only 23 years old at the time, passed away from fentanyl intoxication, happened to occur while Tall Girl 2 was being published and promoted. Regarding her brother’s tragic passing, the actress said in a recent interview:
“It was certainly an accident, absolutely unanticipated. Although it’s still challenging to talk about, I think it’s vital.
Regarding Devan’s tragic passing, the family steadfastly declined to give any details. In contrast, Ava aims to raise awareness of the risks of inadvertent mishaps brought on by strong opioids, which are frequently found coupled with other prescriptions.
The sudden passing of actor Ava Michelle’s brother is explored in “Tall Girl 2.”
In a heartfelt Instagram message, the actress expressed her sorrow about losing her brother and how much she misses him. The actress reportedly claimed that more young people have died from fentanyl overdoses recently than during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a conversation, she said:
“We ought to be discussing this a lot more than we are. I’m incredibly passionate about this, therefore I’m going to start my own foundation to spread the word about it.”
In honor of her brother Devan, Ava and her mother Jeanette Cota introduced the Identified apparel line in December. According to the actress, Devan called the clothing firm the night before he passed away with plans to launch it. She remarked:
“He took enormous pride in this and it meant a lot to him. We’re thrilled that my mother and I were able to make it happen and that it went live on Christmas Day. I think it is quite special and something he would definitely want us to keep doing because it has a lot of him in it and has a lovely meaning. Therefore, in theory, something beautiful can come from something ugly.”
In addition to her work on Identified, Ava is now promoting her most recent movie, Tall Girl 2. She claimed that the ups and downs that her character Jodi goes through still hit close to heart. She remarked,
It seems like Jodi and I are experiencing the same emotional ups and downs.
