Dan was chosen in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, 145th overall. He made his first career NFL start on October 12, 2008, in a 12-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He also played in the final game of the 2008 season, but his team lost. The Houston Texans signed him on March 1, 2009.
