Twitter Blue is something Elon Musk has some ideas for, but what exactly is it and how much does it cost? Elon just surpassed other investors as Twitter’s largest stakeholder, owning a 9.2% interest in the business. Elon now has the power to alter the platform because he owns the majority of the business.
In fact, Elon proposed allowing users to use Dogecoin as payment for Twitter Blue subscriptions.
Why Does Twitter Blue Exist?
In a blog post, Twitter claimed that the new feature was created to add new tools to make the Twitter experience “more personalised and expressive.”
A number of features were made available to those that purchased the new feature. For a better user experience, these users can first take use of erasing tweets, bookmarking folders, and having a reading mode.
What Is The Price Of The Subscription?
The website states that users will pay $3.49 CAD or $4.49 AUD each month to use these capabilities. Users in Australia and Canada are now being tested for this feature.
When other users will be able to benefit from this is not yet known. Only the aforementioned functionalities will be offered for the time being. However, it’s anticipated that more functionality will be introduced in response to user input.
Elon suggested that payments for Twitter Blue be paid in Dogecoin, as he has been outspoken about his interest in the cryptocurrency.
In a series of tweets, he stated that “everyone who signs up for Twitter Blue (i.e., pays $3/month) should get an authentication checkmark.” There is currently a 20-second time limit for modifying tweets on Blue.
No commercials, he insisted. If Twitter depends on advertising to make a living, companies will have much more power to control policy. maybe even a Doge payment option?”
No official announcement of the adjustments has yet been made. We wouldn’t be shocked if Elon tried to change things up, though, given his aspirations to add new terminology to the platform.
