The second season of the well-regarded Korean drama Hellbound has been renewed. On September 24, TUDUM, a global Netflix fan gathering, made headlines. The program Hellbound is based on the eponymous webcomic, which portrays a world where humans must contend with the messengers of Hell (referred to as “angels of death” on the program), who arrives unannounced and issue prophetic decrees sending people to Hell.
One of the most promising K-dramas to premiere on Netflix in 2021 is the first season of this show. Fans of the webcomic and the show were on edge for a long time because, even though it finished on a cliffhanger, there was no indication of a renewal. Let’s look at what we could expect from the upcoming season now that the show has been revived.
Kim Hyun-joo could serve as the show’s director for season two.
The first season of Hellbound came to a satisfying conclusion. When Song So-hyun receives a judgment from the angel soon after giving birth to her child, Kim Hyun-Joo and her husband Bae Young-Jae (Park Jung-min) donate their lives to save their child from the angel of death.
After they pass away, the baby is inherited by Kim Hyun’s character Joo’s Min Hae-jin, who becomes one of the show’s stars for the upcoming season.
How she takes care of the baby, the nature of her covert organization and Yoo Ah-replacement in’s for the second season are all issues that need to be clarified. In Jung Jin-soo, Yoo Ah’s character passed away in the first season because he was one of many persons who had received a death sentence.
The character of Arrowhead, who incited hatred and violence among his followers, was another major source of stress in the first season. For fans of Hellbound from the first season, the biggest mystery is the genesis of the angels of death.
Are they truly extraordinary creatures? Or are they a tool employed by a powerful person to accomplish their objective? This problem was also unresolved in the comic book on which Hellbound is based. Instead, it concentrated on individuals who were given a death sentence by the angels of death and their misery.
Most people believe that judgment results from the sins committed by the judgment subject. This notion, which was developed by the Church of the New Truth for their gain, has no firm foundation, though. Jin Su (Yoo Ah-in) was a member of the same body before he was killed by the smoke demon.
Hae-jin must now refute the assertions made by the Church of the New Truth. What crime might a newborn infant have committed if only sinners were executed? It will be interesting to see where the program goes in the future as Song So-kid Hyun holds the key to solving all of the puzzles.
