But his passion for skateboarding triumphed over his health problems and marital problems, and he eventually returned to his beloved sport better than ever. In addition, Rodney has discovered true love in his new girlfriend, who is constantly by his side.
Rodney divorced Traci Mullen, a former sales representative for World Industries, where he was a partner and board producer, after a 13-year marriage. The couple tied the knot in April 2000. However, their union ended when they decided to get divorced in 2013.
In May 2013, Rodney petitioned Robert B. of Los Angeles County for divorce from Traci. It’s important to note that he and Traci agreed to a prenup a month before their wedding that prohibited him from providing spousal support if they got divorced.

The Skater Found a Loving Girlfriend After Divorce
Rodney didn’t dwell on his divorce for very long because a year after it, in 2014, he started dating Lori Guidroz, a hair designer for the movie industry. Since then, there have been numerous instances of the couple being photographed together. During the 2016 Seattle Road Film premiere, Rodney and Lori were spotted together.
The couple appears to be very supportive of each other’s professional goals in addition to enjoying each other’s company. In a tweet, Lori showed her adoration for Rodney by referring to him as her guy and praising the legendary skateboarder.
Another person who is interested in following Rodney’s skateboarding career is Lori. She posted a video of Rodney learning new tricks for the first time in 12 years on June 30, 2020, with the description “amazing.”
Skateboarding has always been a huge love for Rodney. Future generations of skateboarders received their passion for the sport thanks in large part to the legend.
He struggled with the scar tissue that his years of practicing tricks had caused to accumulate in his right hip joint. The issue prevented him from skating, and as a result, he developed severe depression.
As he recovered, Mullen started to code to pass the time. An Australian hacker he made a connection with helped him learn Linux. The skating master found similarities between the attitude of a hacker writing code and that of a skater inventing new feats while learning to code.
He compared hacking to skateboarding in his 2012 Ted Talks, concluding that both cultures had an open-source platform that encouraged creativity and helped build on the achievements of earlier generations. Following the huge popularity of his address in 2012, he is now a popular speaker on the Silicon Valley conference circuit.
In addition to skating, speaking, and being a partner in skateboard manufacturing businesses, Mullen has co-authored a book titled “The Mutt: How to Skateboard and Not Kill Yourself.” Additionally, he appears as a character in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.
