Chris Ledesma, a well-known music editor, died at the age of 64 recently. The cause of death has not been revealed. He became well-known for his work on the popular animated series The Simpsons.
The program revealed Ledesma’s death on a memorial in Sunday’s episode, My Life as a Vlog, with a title card that said “In loving remembrance of Chris Ledesma.” An animated version of the music editor was seen seated between Homer and Marge on the Simpsons’ famous orange sofa.
Ledesma smiled as he instructed Bart, Maggie, and Lisa on various instruments. The show’s writer, Carolyn Omine, said on Twitter that Ledesma loved his job and was “truly, very brilliant at it.”
Many of Ledesma’s coworkers and followers paid tribute to him on Twitter. In a tweet, Jake Schaefer, the show’s current music editor, said,
“Chris Ledesma’s love of music and The Simpsons influenced him. This year, I’m grateful for the time I spent with him. He was a great mentor and a great guy. “My heart goes out to his family.”

Chris, born on January 28, 1958, grew up in Southern California and began playing the piano and trumpet at a young age. He went to the California Institute of the Arts and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he worked as a music editor in a student film.
Ledesma began working as a tour guide at Universal Studios Hollywood in 1984, and during his lunch break, he observed score sessions for television shows such as Murder, She Wrote, Airwolf, Amazing Stories, and others.
Before launching his own company, Click Track, Inc., he worked as a music editor for Segue Music, Music Design Group, and Music Works. He worked on films like Pure Country, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Blast from the Past, as well as television shows like Gypsy, War and Remembrance, and others.
Beginning in 1989, Chris was the music editor for every episode of The Simpsons from season 1 to season 33. He left the show last year due to health issues. Ledesma was also nominated for a Golden Reel Award for his performance in the show’s 11th episode, titled Wild Barts Can’t Be Broken, from the tenth season. The Simpsons is one of the longest-running animated shows. The show aired for 34 seasons and 740 episodes from December 17, 1989, to September 25, 2022.
