“The #TopChef family is devastated to learn about season three’s Howard Kleinberg’s premature passing.” Many individuals were affected by Howie’s passion for cooking, and we send our condolences to his family and friends.
On the third season of the well-known show, Kleiberg placed eighth, and he later opened his own restaurant in Miami. He is survived by his mother, father, sister, and Skye, his rescue dog.
Howard passed away as a result of a heart attack, according to Susan Kleinberg of the Miami Herald. She further said:
“I’m only just finding out how many lives he touched.” His lifelong passion, which was cooking, had him married.
His family members have not yet provided any information about any prior health issues he may have had.
Donations can be made to Bullies-N-Beyond Rescue or Feeding South Florida in honor of Kleinberg, whose funeral is scheduled for Tuesday.
Howard Kleinberg: Who was he?
Howard Kleinberg, according to the Miami Herald, enrolled at Johnson & Wales University in North Miami’s culinary program. He started off in the Hotel Intercontinental’s restaurant in Miami’s financial district. Following his seventh-place result in Season 3 of Top Chef, Kleinberg gained notoriety.
His second eatery, Bulldog Barbecue, opened in Miami. Howard’s love of barbeque, according to his obituary, was inspired by the summers he spent in North Carolina. This year, he also rose to the position of executive chef at Peacock Garden Resto Bar + Grill. He participated enthusiastically in the South Beach Wine & Food Festival every year.
Along with being a great cook, he was passionate about collecting money for animal shelters and children who were in need of food. One user paid tribute to Kleinberg by revealing that he had taught Kleinberg in elementary school and that he had been welcomed by a waitress at Kleinberg’s Miami restaurant with milk and cookies as a gift from Howard.
Another user claimed that Howard made him try a Luther burger for the first time, which is how he first became aware of the “magic of burned ends.”
