During his tenure, the show grew in popularity and garnered critical acclaim, including 22 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several bids for news and journalistic honors. From 1995 to 2015, he was the Daily Show’s longest-running anchor, until he was succeeded by comedian Trevor Noah. He began presenting The Trouble with Jon Stewart on Apple TV+ after his departure.

The Trouble with Jon Stewart returns for Season 2 with discussions on the military, crime, cancel culture, inflation, and fascism.
According to a formal press release issued by Apple TV+ Press on April 7, 2022, the program’s current concept is as follows:

“The Trouble with Jon Stewart” is a multi-season, one-hour single-issue documentary that will look at current national issues as well as his campaign work. To continue the conversation, each season of the show will be examined in greater depth in a separate podcast.”

Part two of season two, on the other hand, will feature the series’ first-ever overseas discussions with a number of foreign policy officials. In a preview for the upcoming season, Stewart is seen confronting Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge about the state’s gender-affirming treatment ban.

According to an Apple TV+ press release dated February 2023:

“The second season continues with six all-new segments on topics such as crime, military strategy, inflation, and democratic backsliding. The series includes difficult, current, and culturally significant discussions with humor and common sense from stakeholders, specialists, and people confronted with these issues.

The following celebrities are expected to appear in this season of The Trouble with Jon Stewart:

  • General David Petraeus speaks about security.
  • Natham Dahm (R-OK) elaborates on criminality and firearms.
  • California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) speaks about jail reform and recovery.
