Homes With History, starring Mike Lemieux, Rich Soares, and Jen Macdonald, will make its second appearance on HGTV. The three will collaborate to save and renovate centuries-old homes in Massachusetts for new and modern families. Loren Ruch, Group Senior Vice President of Content & Development at HGTV, had the following to say about the show:
“Houses With History is one of the programs in which we reversed the concept of what makes a successful remodeling narrative by beginning with the property’s history rather than the resident.”
He went on to say that the show is being renewed because Jen, Mike, and Rich are “fabulous” and “humorous” writers, and it’s always fascinating when unexpected twists emerge during restorations of the country’s earliest houses.
Jen Macdonald took to social media to express her excitement for the new season and to tease what’s to come. She stated on Instagram that the HGTV crew would travel to Fairhaven in the season premiere of Homes With History season 2 to repair one of Henry Huttlesron Roger’s properties from around 1900.
She continued, saying:
“This is one of my favorites, and the community is wonderful.”
In another article, Macdonald mentioned another property that was 330 years old and needed “real repair.” She also informed fans that the show will air at 10:00 p.m. ET, but the crew will go live on Facebook at 8:00 p.m. ET. According to the press release, the first episode was originally a potting shed with a rich history, and the proprietor was a close friend of the original oil magnate, John D. Rockefeller.
It continues, saying:
“To make it their own, the new owners will charge Mike, Rich, and Jen with incorporating contemporary utility and design in the kitchen, living areas, and main bedroom.”
