Anita started her legal work as an associate at the Washington, D.C. law firm Wald, Harkader, and Ross, which is part of the District of Columbia Bar. After a year, in 1981, she was hired as Clarence Thomas’s attorney.
At the time, Clarence served as the office of civil rights deputy secretary for education. Hill assisted Thomas when he was elected head of the US Equal Opportunity Commission in 1982.
