After the release of Batman’s trailers and teasers, many believe that Zoe Kravitz and Robert Pattinson are the most qualified candidates for the roles of Catwoman and Batman.
Wednesday night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress highlighted her chemistry-filled screen test with the film’s title character, Robert Pattinson.
“They dressed him in George Clooney’s costume,” Kravitz remarked on Jimmy Fallon’s show, referencing Clooney’s portrayal of Batman in the 1997 film Batman & Robin.
About Robert Pattinson’s funny Batman camera test
While Pattinson was clad “just from the waist up” in the nipped Batsuit, Zoe initially described the screen test experience as “funny,” adding,
“It was a lot of fun.”
“On his legs, he was wearing sweatpants!”
On their initial screen test, Kravitz described Pattinson’s attire as “casual Batman.” Even though the two actors had known each other for years, this was their first film together.
Zoe Kravitz continued by saying, “Furthermore, she stated:
“I was terrified that I would think, ‘Oh my my, it’s Rob dressed as Batman, that’s strange!'”
“But, he was so good that I forgot it was him, which is quite remarkable.”
Jimmy went on to praise Kravitz’s performance as Catwoman, remarking that while Pattison is a great Batman, Zoe was “phenomenal.” She went on to announce that she would be hosting Saturday Night Live the next weekend, following the release of The Batman.
Later, when asked how he would channel Catwoman if he had the option, Fallon suggested drinking milk from a bowl. Zoe offered her voice, agreeing:
“That’s exactly what I did!” Man, I’m method.”
In the next DC film, Kravitz and Pattinson’s tense relationship is explored further. Zoe previously disclosed to Entertainment Weekly her extraordinary relationship with Pattinson:
“There may be a great deal happening in a scene, but if I could connect with Rob and gaze into his eyes, I would be immersed in it immediately. I observed an unfamiliar expression in his eyes. It was astounding to witness something so new and vulnerable at the same time.”
The Batman, directed by Cloverfield’s Matt Reeves, will introduce audiences to Pattinson’s interpretation of Bruce Wayne. In addition to Paul Dano as the Riddler and Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Peter Sarsgaard, Jeffrey Wright, and Andy Serkis all appear in the film.
