In August 2022, Brooklyn and Bailey McKnight, popular YouTuber twins, will launch ITK, a 15-piece skin-care line available at Walmart. ITK stands for “in the know,” and the company promises to keep its customers up to date on skincare trends.

The ITK product line includes everything from cleansers and pimple patches to vitamin supplements for overall skin health. The products are vegan, cruelty-free, and priced at $15 or less. Brooklyn and Bailey have been promoting their products on all of their social media channels since its inception, but on September 13, 2022, they had something new to share with their Instagram followers on Instagram stories.

Brooklyn and Bailey McKnight believe Kylie Jenner took advantage of them

In a series of Instagram posts, the sisters claimed that Kylie Jenner either plagiarized them or that their marketing teams had “similar marketing ideas.” They explained their feelings by posting an Instagram video of their clothing company, Lash Next Door. In the film, a red rotary dial telephone and a pair of hands ringing the digits 12, 15, 22, and 5, representing the letters L, O, V, and E, were used.

It was a hint that their next launch will take place on February 14, 2022. In the following article, the sisters included a video of Jenner’s new Kylie Cosmetics advertisement. Jenner’s video also featured a red rotary dial phone, but hers rang. Her mother, Kris Jenner, had called to remind the cosmetics mogul of her upcoming product launch.

This was just one of three parallels that the sister noticed. Jenner appears to have imitated the sisters’ flat lay ITK photography in the second one for Kylie Skin’s advertising. Brooklyn and Bailey photographed their color-changing mask on top of a bed or on a flower-filled wooden bathtub caddy. Meanwhile, Jenner organized her lavender bath supplies on a wooden bathtub caddy.

Finally, ITK and Kylie Skin had identical product descriptions, with the exception that Brooklyn and Bailey’s image was published on July 9, 2022, while Jenner’s was published on August 24, 2022. The twin sister ended their message by saying that they saw a woman on TikTok complaining about Jenner imitating her and that she might not be the only victim.

Netizens React to the Similarity

Brooklyn and Bailey’s Instagram stories were stolen and reshared on the original Tiktokroom screen, and followers commented on the situation. Some netizens believed Jenner plagiarized them, according to comments posted on social media. “You should read the whole thing she posted.” “To be honest, it’s more than a coincidence,” one person said.

Others, however, did not agree with the twins. “As if Kylie felt the need to do that,” one Jenner fan remarked. Meanwhile, someone else pointed out that Jenner couldn’t replicate them because, even if they were uploaded later than the twins, the process behind the scenes had most likely taken months.

A third group believed that these ideas had been used so frequently that they were no longer novel.

“Those concepts are not creative; they’ve been done so many times before,” one person observed, adding, “Coming from someone who works in marketing: there is nothing original about any of that.”

Jenner has yet to address the allegations.
