Mikhail Yakovlevich Zaitsev and Maria Ivanovna Zaitseva gave birth to Zaitsev on March 2, 1938, in Ivanovo. In 2007, Zaitsev appeared as a judge on Channel One’s TV show “Fashion Verdict” (Russian: одн pиовоp), passing judgment on the fashion sense of the participants.Zaitsev revealed that he was drawn to traditional Turkmen clothing after attending the Turkmen Textile Exhibition in Ashgabat in June 2008, and he announced plans for a new collection that would include traditional Turkmen components.
The casual wear collection will be entirely made of Turkmen cotton and will feature the traditional Turkmen embroidery that piqued his interest. In September 2008, Svetlana Medvedeva and Clio Maria Bittoni, wife of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, attended The Russian Evening-2008 at the Institute of International Political Studies in Milan.
