Jack never imagined he would become the biggest rock star in his country when he was a kid. Following in his father’s footsteps was an obvious first step, and his surfing prowess has wowed onlookers.
He created waves when he was the youngest surfer ever to make it to the finals of Oahu’s ‘Pipeline Masters competition. He was seriously hurt in an accident and didn’t even come close to winning the championship. The accident ended up becoming the defining moment of his life.
He eventually gave up surfing to concentrate on music. He decided to study film to better understand the movie business. Writing a few songs for the film “Thicker than Water” marked the beginning of his career as a songwriter.
