Landry was born on June 9, 1960, in Pierre Part, Louisiana, to a fishing family. His father, Duffy Landry, was a fisherman and seafood wholesaler, and his mother, Myrtle Landry, was a housewife.
Landry must have had a wonderful relationship with his parents as a child. In honor of his father, he has started a business called Duffy’s Shell Station. The title of The King of Swamp is also devoted to his mother.
Furthermore, Landry was not his parents’ only kid growing up. Bubba Landry and Guy Landry are his two brothers. We don’t know much about Bubba, but Guy followed in his brother’s footsteps with his show, Swamp People. These brothers are descended from hunters, fishers, and trappers; Troy and Guy Landry are the ones who have taken this to the next level in show business.
He is married to Bernita Landry.
The King of Swamp Troy has a wonderful marriage with his wife, Bernita Landry. The pair married on September 26th, 1981, and will shortly celebrate 41 years of marriage.
Bernita is unquestionably the most significant person in Landry’s life. Landry spends practically every second with his wife Bernita in their dream home in Louisiana when he is not busy filming recordings for his reality program.
However, the couple initially had some professional difficulties. While Landry was born a hunter, his wife, Bernita Landry, was a former elementary school teacher. She now works as a publicist for the History Channel, which airs Landry’s Swamp People. Bernita also assists with the family business, primarily with their crawfish business.
Landry and Bernita have three boys together, owing to the wonderful life they share.
Troy Landry’s Three Sons Are All In The Hunting Business
Troy and his wife, Bernita Landry, are the parents of three sons: Brandon, Jacob, and Chase Landry. These three lads have followed in their father’s footsteps in the alligator hunting business.
46-year-old Brandon Landry is Troy and Bernita Landry’s eldest son. He starred in Swamp People till 2014, accompanying his father on alligator hunts. However, his disappearance from the program four years later has left viewers wondering whether Brandon is dead or living.
Recently, a rumor circulated claiming Brandon Landry’s death. These rumors, however, turned out to be incorrect. Landry’s kid, Brandon, was mistaken for another man with a similar name and identity who had recently died.
Jacob Landry, the middle child of Troy and Bernita Landry, can still be seen on Swamp People alongside his father.
Similarly, Landry’s youngest son, Chase Landry, is more well-known than his two elder brothers. His demeanor is likewise quite similar to his father’s. Chase has so appeared in nearly every episode of the family’s reality show. He is, however, a bit of a jerk. Chase was arrested in 2016 for firing on another boat while hunting for alligators. Despite the fact that there were no casualties, he was judged guilty of damaging the other boat. Chase’s case was gradually hidden since he was the son of a famous American hunter.
The news of Troy’s sons is certainly the “talk of the town,” but we’re here to learn more about their father. Perhaps we will learn more about Brandon, Jacob, and Chase in the future. So, keep an eye out!
How Did Troy Obtain the Title of King of the Swamp?
As previously stated, Troy and his entire Landry family star in the History Channel reality show Swamp People. They go across Louisiana’s Atchafalaya Basin for 30 days a year to hunt alligators and limit their number. Swamp People debuted on August 22, 2010. It is still popular on the History Channel and has nearly 13 seasons.
Landry, dubbed “The King of Swamp,” is at the core of this episode. He holds the record for rapping 82 alligators in 24 hours. Thus, his aggressive and brave demeanor propelled him to the top of the gator-hunting industry. He is, indeed, the KING! He is not, however, the lone star of the show. His boys, Jacob and Chase, also play an important role in their father’s life.
Landry also has a crawfish distribution firm in addition to this TV show. As previously indicated, it is known as Duffy’s Shell Station. When he is not filming Swamp People, he enjoys fishing in lakes surrounding his house. Landry has not forgotten his fisherman ancestors, based on this.
He was diagnosed with cancer.
Landry’s health just took a hit. Some news outlets even spread false stories about his death. However, those were simply rumors, and Landry is alive and well.
Landry had been suffering from prostate cancer for quite some time, it turns out. Not long ago, in May 2022, he had surgery to remove his prostate glands. Landry even updated his Facebook page to assure fans that he is well and recovering from surgery. As a result, the rumors of his death had to be put to rest.
Similarly, in response to the rumor, his son, Jacob, provided an update on his father’s health. He stated,
“I just wanted to let everyone know about Dad. He’s feeling considerably better now that he’s returned home. For those who don’t know, he had prostate cancer, and his prostate was removed. “Everything appears to be in order.”
