Naga Munchetty, also known as Subha Nagalakshmi Munchetty-Chendriah, is a television personality, newsreader, and journalist.
Naga hosts BBC Breakfast on a regular basis. She has also previously hosted Working Lunch on BBC Two and BBC World News, a daily financial affairs program.
She has always had a passion for journalism and rose to prominence while working as a City reporter for the Evening Standard.
Munchetty began her career as a reporter for Reuters Financial Television before moving on to become a senior producer for CNBC Europe.
Since August 2010, Munchetty has also hosted early morning briefings (UKT) on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News. On BBC One, she frequently hosts Breakfast.
Munchetty took over as host of Radio 5’s 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays from Emma Barnett, who moved to Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour in January 2021.

Naga Muchetty has not been sacked. She was forced to leave the show in the middle of a transmission in November 2022 owing to an undisclosed illness that made it difficult for her to present.

Naga began her career as a City Pages reporter for the London Evening Standard. She also wrote to The Observer’s Business Section.
She then began her television career as a reporter for Reuters Financial Television. She then worked as a senior for CNBC Europe, a business producer and reporter for Channel 4 News, and a Bloomberg Television presenter.
She also appeared on the fourteenth season of Strictly Come Dancing, partnering with Pasha Kovalev.
She and Sean Fletcher presented Britain’s Classroom Heroes in October 2017.
Munchetty also appeared on The Weakest Link, a BBC quiz program, on Boxing Day 2022.
