Beginnings of Bobby Hull

The birthplace of Bobby Hull is Pointe Anne, Ontario. He was the son of cement company foreman Robert Edward Hull and Lena Cook Hull.

He began junior hockey in Belleville and began playing for the Woodstock Warriors in the fall of 1954.

As Ontario’s champion in 1955, Hull led the Warriors to the Sutherland Cup.

Before becoming pro in 1957 at the age of 18, he later played in the Ontario Hockey Association for the St. Catharines Teepees and the Galt Black Hawks.

The NHL Alumni Association said on Monday that Bobby Hull, the brilliant Blackhawks left wing who brought the Stanley Cup to Chicago in 1961 and a lifelong club ambassador, passed away suddenly. He passed away when he was 84 years old.
