Jarrell David Harris, 27, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the murder of Sedrick Miller in front of his children.
The D.C. Superior Court’s arrest warrant enabled members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force to apprehend David Harris on May 6, 2022.
According to the prosecution, Jarell Harris shot Miller eleven times.
According to the investigation’s findings, a guy approached Sedrick Miller, 42, from behind and fired several shots at him as he was walking down the street on March 4 while holding the hands of his 5-year-old and 6-month-old children who were in a car seat.
When the police came, they found Miller dead with what looked to be gunshot wounds.
Miller was quickly sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where personnel declared him to be dead.

According to the court record, Jarell Harris, also known as Jarrell Harris, admitted to killing Sedrick Miller, 42, by shooting him to death in 2022.
He was sentenced to 13 years in jail on January 25, 2023 in Northeast Washington after submitting a guilty plea.
Harris acknowledged, as part of a plea deal, that he approached the victim in the 2300 block of 18th Street NE and shot him about a dozen times.

The findings of the autopsy revealed that Miller had eleven gunshot wounds, including five to the thorax, four to the face and neck, one to each upper right and left arm, and five to the face.
Harris was later captured on one count of deliberate armed manslaughter after fleeing in a vehicle and being pursued for a little over two months.
Miller’s murder was labeled “one of the awful things we’ve had here in the Fifth District in some years” by D.C. Police Cmdr. William Fitzgerald.
