Garcia was armed with an AR-15-style weapon and wearing tactical gear at the time of the encounter. Additionally, according to two witnesses, he was wearing a patch on his clothing that said “RWDS,” which stands for “Right Wing Death Squad.” RWDS is believed to be a right-wing neo-Nazi group, despite the absence of an official declaration about its motive.
