The Last of Us seems to have prepared the groundwork for Joel’s demise. But is he actually deceased? Joel is severely injured, yet he is still alive. He had seen all the warning signs that indicate approaching disaster on post-apocalyptic television.
A last-minute decision that exposed his decent heart, though it is concealed, along with a long-lost familial reunion, hallucinations of his deceased daughter, a crucial discovery that altered how someone who cared about him perceived him, and declining mental health. If Joel were in The Walking Dead, he would already be dead, but The Last of Us seems to be handling things differently. spoilers ahead.
How Did Joel Fare In The Last Of Us? Is he deceased?

At the conclusion of episode six, a raider used a broken baseball bat to stab Joel in the stomach. He was running from the armed men on the campus when he lost a lot of blood and fell off his horse. Joel Miller closed his eyes and remained still despite Ellie’s pleading for him to open them. Things seem beyond repair. Joel, nevertheless, is still alive!
Joel is taken care of by Ellie, who also cures his wounds. Fortunately, she finds medical supplies at a closed-down shopping center that help with his recovery. She regularly goes deer hunting in order to support Joel. In this way, she encounters David, a supposedly good-hearted hunter who spares her life from a deadly Infected assault.
Sadly, David develops into a cannibalistic murderer who kidnaps Ellie. At this time, Joel awakens to find Ellie gone. Most of his wounds have healed. According to Men’s Health, from Joel’s perspective, it is a sudden and unexpected moment for a player who was just a minute ago.
It takes more effort for the series to develop this level of player-character connection. Joel is separated from the viewer by Ellie’s point of view, which lets us feel Joel’s injury. The approach utilized here seems to achieve something new yet is as effective in making us feel Ellie’s helplessness and Joel’s agony.
What took place in “The Last of Us”?
In the game, Joel and Ellie are ambushed by a total of roughly 20 attackers and then forced to flee and shoot their way out of the hospital. Joel (the player at the time) is going for the entrance from an outdoor hallway overlooking the hospital courtyard when a guy bursts through it, slamming Joel over the railing.
After some work, both characters smoothly transition from gameplay to cutscene. The foreground is framed by protruding rebar as the fall is seen from the courtyard looking above. Both Joel and the attacker smash against the camera. Joel has a rebar stab wound.
In The Last of Us: Part 2, why did Abby kill Joel?
Joel rescues Ellie from his mortal wound and drives her to the Fireflies in Salt Lake City. But before delivering Ellie to Jackson, he murders Marlene and every Firefly because he realizes that she must pass away for the medication to work. Sadly, Abigail, one of the main figures in The Last of Us Part 2, ends up killing Joel.
Abby is out for vengeance for losing her father because she was one of the Fireflies that Joel murdered. Ellie’s father is one of the doctors working on her to extract the cure. You may breathe easy, HBO viewers and Joel (Pedro Pascal).
