Theodore McRae Michael McRae, his father, described him as a mama’s boy. After losing his mother, Linda McRae, to a stroke in September 2020, the gunman grew resentful and wicked. The mass shooting at Michigan State University was carried out by Anthony McRae. He injured five people while killing three MSU undergraduate students.
McRae later died from a gunshot wound that he gave himself. Although a weapon was discovered, authorities weren’t sure if it had been used in the shooting. In addition, it is yet unclear what motivated the shooter. Anthony had no affiliation with the University because he was neither a staff member nor a student there.

Michael and Linda McRae welcomed Anthony McRae into the world on June 10, 1979 in Bear, Delaware. He was one of his parents’ three children. The Lansing inhabitant was born in Trenton, New Jersey, and later immigrated to Michigan. He was close to his mother, Linda, according to his father, Michael McRae, 43.
The loss of his mother was difficult for the deceased shooter to handle. A stroke caused Linda McRae to pass away on September 13, 2020. After Anthony’s mother passed away, his outlook on life “changed.” A mama’s boy, he said. He loved his mom dearly. They were closely bonded. Michael McRae said, “His mother was like his sister.
Anthony apparently quit working at a warehouse after his unexpected death and spent the entire day playing video games in his apartment. He was grieving for his mother. Michael McRae couldn’t let it go. He got angrier and angrier,” Michael McRae recounted. As time went on, he developed a cruel and evil personality and stopped caring about whatever his Father added.
Not that the senior McRae didn’t make an effort to support his kid. Anthony was urged by Michael to talk to a counselor and go to church with him. However, the alleged shooter at MSU declined his assistance, claiming, “I am OK, dad. I’m OK without support. Michael McRae insisted he had no idea why his son had chosen to attack the University. However, he believed that perhaps he had been attempting to apply for a position there.

Anthony McRae, the suspect in the MSU shooting, doesn’t seem to be wed. In Lasing, Michigan, he shared a home with his father. The wife and children of this man have not been mentioned. He probably didn’t have one, so that’s why. Was the alleged shooter at Michigan State University married? Had he any offspring? The solution, though, is still a mystery.
Previous Arrest of Anthony McRae
Prior to the shooting spree on Monday night, Anthony McRae’s most significant violation occurred in June 2019. He was sitting on the back steps of a building when a Lansing Police officer discovered him smoking a cigarette. He acknowledged having a firearm when one of the cops approached and asked if he had one or something similar on him.
Officers found a Ruger LCP.380 semi-automatic pistol in his jeans pocket, according to court filings. Anthony was first charged with carrying a concealed weapon. It is a crime for which a five-year prison sentence is conceivable.
He was charged with a misdemeanor that carries a maximum two-year prison sentence for possessing a loaded gun in or close to a moving vehicle. When Anthony McRae pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor, probation was granted. The authority discharged him in May 2021.
