John Barnes, a former football player, is the son of Ken Varnes and Frances Jeanne Hill. When he was born on November 7, 1963, in Jamaica, he was welcomed into the family.
His father, Ken Varnes, was a former sports administrator and officer in the Jamaica Defence Force. He is presently retired.
Ken played for the Jamaica National Premier League and served as the team captain for a considerable amount of time when he was in the military.
John spent his whole youth within Jamaica’s most important military installation. While there, he also picked up the game of football, which his father had been a huge fan of since a young age.
As a result, his father made him play football and also served as an inspiration to him when he watched him play for the Jamaican squad.
