Informing the police that they may have been caring for a dementia patient who may have disappeared from a Pennsylvania township near Pittsburgh in 1992, the nursing home made the call to the police last year. According to information obtained by Ross Township Deputy Chief Brian Kohlhepp, Kopt was found in need on the streets of Puerto Rico in 1999.
According to INTERPOL and the social worker, Patricia was found wandering the streets. Over the years, she steadfastly refused to discuss her personal life or her origins. But as she got older, the missing lady started disclosing information, which finally prompted others around to notify Ross police.

Patricia was wed to Bob, and the two of them exchanged vows. Gloria was the name of her other sister. Patricia Kopta was last seen in Pittsburgh in the summer of 1992, according to a flyer distributed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Response Center.
A few months later, in the autumn, her husband Bob Kopta reported her missing. The flier claims that he admitted to authorities that his wife regularly disappeared for brief periods around that time. At the press conference with Ross Township Police, Bob, Patricia’s husband, said that she had been gone one night when he had come home and that no one knew where she was.
After she didn’t come home, Patricia Kopta’s family was distressed and concerned. With the assistance of the police, they looked for Kopta on every corner of the street but were unsuccessful.
Before she vanished, Ms. Kopta had been married to Pittsburgher Bob Kopta for 20 years. After looking for Patricia Kopta for years and receiving no leads, her family and husband concluded she had passed away. In Ross Township, Bob claims Patricia had a typical life during the first several years of their marriage.
She enjoyed ballroom dancing and commuted to many jobs in Pittsburgh, including one as an elevator operator. He said that the couple didn’t have any children and that Patricia was a devoted Roman Catholic who often attended church.
Gloria Smith, Ms. Kopta’s younger sister, spoke at the news conference on Friday and described how she felt when the authorities used DNA evidence this week to prove that her sister was in Puerto Rico.
Issues With Patricia Kopta’s Mental Health
Patricia Kopta, commonly known as “the sparrow,” was well-known for giving sermons outside the financial area of Pittsburgh. She also had a history of mental health concerns before going missing at the age of 52, according to her family and the police chief.
The missing person flier describes Ms. Kopta as having previously been a “well-known street preacher” in Pittsburgh. According to the flyer, she would approach people and tell them that the world was coming to an end.
According to Kohlhepp, Patricia Kopta’s family was aware of her mental health history and remarks she had made about her plan to leave and be taken to a nearby care facility, thus their lack of initial suspicion over her departure was understandable.
Her husband said that his wife had expressed a desire to go to Puerto Rico to live in a tropical environment. At the press conference, Bob said that he spent a lot of money over the years looking for his missing wife in Puerto Rico while placing ads in the newspaper.
