Jair Bolsonaro is cancer-free. However, he was rushed to an Orlando, Florida hospital because of “serious abdominal pains.”
Since the stabbing, Bolsonaro has been treated by Brazilian physician Antonio Luiz Macedo. He has an intestinal obstruction but is not expected to need surgery, according to Dr. Macedo.
He has had six operations since the stabbing, four of which were directly connected to the attack.
In the years after being stabbed while vying for the presidency in 2018, Bolsonaro has had to visit the hospital many times for intestinal blockages.
He has also recently developed intestinal adhesions and obstructions.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, according to CNN, was released from the hospital and landed to a residence in Orlando, Florida.
Bolsonaro was sent to a hospital in Florida after experiencing gastrointestinal problems.
After his supporters destroyed Brazil’s government buildings, Jair, a former president, posted a photo of himself laying in a hospital bed while several U.S. legislators requested that he be banned from the country.
Bolsonaro said he needed treatment for problems related to a long-ago knife wound.
His wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, said in an Instagram post that he was hospitalized for stomach discomfort caused on by wounds sustained in a knife assault at a political event in 2018.
Bolsonaro seems better physically after receiving good treatment in the military hospital. His tremendous mental fortitude was largely responsible for his quick recovery.
