Whoopi Goldberg is an American actor, comedian, writer, and television personality. Her birth name is Caryn Elaine Johnson, and she was born on November 13, 1955.

The View’s upcoming episodes will be missed by Whoopi Goldberg while she recovers from a positive Covid test.
One day after it became known that Goldberg was unwell, the co-hosts of the ABC daytime talk program discussed her absence.
Good morning and welcome to The View, everyone. Joy Behar said at the start of the hour-long program, “Unfortunately, Whoopi is out with Covid.
Get some rest, and then when you feel better, Miss, come back here.
The panel also included Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. Behar took over as moderator after Goldberg.
With Covid, Goldberg has signed a second deal. Because she tested positive for the virus she had contracted in December 2021, the moderator of the program missed a few episodes at the beginning of 2022.
I’m sure it could have been much, much, much, much worse, but it wasn’t, said Goldberg. Since all of the most recent tests have come back negative, I feel tremendously lucky and pleased. I’m the only person in my family that is still optimistic.
Whoopi Goldberg is not hospitalized. She is taking a nap at home.

Caryn Elaine Johnson was born in Manhattan, New York City, on November 13, 1955. She is the daughter of Baptist preacher Robert James Johnson Jr. and nurse and teacher Emma Johnson.
She was raised in the New York City public housing complex known as the Chelsea-Elliot Houses.
Her brother Clyde and her mother, whom Goldberg described as a “stern, strong, and smart woman,” raised her. She attended St. Columba’s, a local Catholic school.
She graduated from Washington Irving High. Recent forebears of Whoopi originated in Virginia, Faceville, Georgia, and Palatka, Florida.

When she joined the experimental theater troupe Blake Street Hawkeyes and began instructing comedy and acting, Courtney Love was one of her students. Goldberg has taken part in several plays.
She witnessed the 1978 San Diego midair crash of two planes, which resulted in post-traumatic stress disorder and the onset of her dread of flying.
