Pastor Lamor Whitehead-Brooklyn Bishop Arrested

People are investigating Brooklyn Bishop’s arrest. He denies fraud charges, reports said. In reaction to the federal charges, Whitehead produced a 15-minute Instagram video on Tuesday claiming his innocence.

In the video, Whitehead says, “The bishop is innocent. I’ll resist. I also have God.” Whitehead is accused of lying and threatening to get money for luxury items. Whitehead reportedly convinced a parishioner to invest $90,000 of her retirement money between April 2020 and July 2021.

The bishop promised to help her locate lodgings and invest some of the proceeds in his real estate businesses. Whitehead was indicted for using the money on himself. The indictment alleges that Whitehead forced an unidentified businessman to hand up large sums of money.

Whitehead reportedly convinced the businessman to give the church leader $500,000 and a part in certain real estate developments in spring 2022. The prosecution said the man was promised “favorable acts” from the New York City administration to benefit Whitehead and himself.

Fraud Charged Brooklyn Bishop

After being robbed of a lot of valuables while preaching in July, Brooklyn preacher Lamor Whitehead was arrested for federal financial fraud. The “bling bishop,” 44-year-old Bishop Whitehead, “bullied a businessman for $5,000, then tried to cheat him of substantially more than that,” according to Manhattan U.S. attorney Damian Williams.

Whitehead allegedly convinced a parishioner to take $90,000 from her retirement account by offering to help her buy a new house. Whitehead told the victim, “I am a man of integrity, and you will not lose,” but prosecutors said he spent the money on luxury products.
