Tragically, a mother and her sporadically dating boyfriend were discovered dead in their Holcombe, Devon, house on the same day. Aleasha Sullivan, age 32, was discovered behind the front door of the House, and her partner, Josh Sandercock, age 30, was discovered dead on the settee.
Both fatalities were ultimately attributed to natural causes, despite initial concerns for Aleasha’s well-being.

Following the tragic deaths of Aleasha Sullivan and her companion, a Home Office forensic pathologist was summoned to perform a postmortem on Aleasha’s corpse.
The examination revealed that Aleasha had perished as a result of pulmonary thromboembolism. When a blood clot from another part of the body travels to the arteries that supply blood to the lungs, it is a serious condition.
This condition can obstruct blood flow and lead to life-threatening complications including cardiac failure, respiratory failure, and even mortality.
A blood clot in Aleasha’s lungs would have made it difficult for her to breathe and caused her significant distress and agony.
In addition to the blood clot, Aleasha’s body contained hypodermic traces, and toxicology tests confirmed that she had used heroin before her death.
History of Aleasha Sullivan’s Troubled Life
Assistant Coroner for South Devon, Mike Bird, addressed the family and acknowledged that the investigation’s conclusion may have been unexpected given the initial supposition that the two fatalities were connected.
However, after a thorough investigation, there was no evidence to suggest that Aleasha Sullivan’s demise was not entirely natural.
Intravenous drug use can exacerbate Aleasha’s medical history, which includes substance dependence, mental health issues, and coagulation problems in her legs.
In addition, the inquest heard that Aleasha had confronted numerous social and familial obstacles in her lifetime, including substance exposure, violence, and abusive behavior.
Aleasha engaged with support services and was motivated to improve her situation and surmount her problems despite her difficulties.
Young Couple Found Together Dead
The deaths of Aleasha and Joshua revealed that the couple perished of natural causes independently of each other, making their deaths a “very rare” occurrence.
While Aleasha perished due to natural causes associated with blood clots in her lungs, Joshua’s use of methadone may have contributed to respiratory failure in a man with pneumonia.
Both individuals had been deceased for some time before their discovery by officers who were dispatched to the residence after Aleasha went missing for nine days.
This tragic event has left their family and friends in mourning as they struggle to accept the untimely loss of loved ones.
