At 15, David Brown’s abrupt death devastated everyone. Social media tributes abound. A quad bike collision in Emo on April 9, 2023, left Brown severely injured. Gardai responded and remained till nightfall. The adolescent died despite ambulance arrival. A Gardai spokeswoman said they are investigating his death and would provide more information shortly.

Portlaoise GAA hurler David was talented. He also played minor hurling for Laois. He won the U/17 Celtic Challenge hurling tournament over Kildare. Brown, a third-year student at St Mary’s CBS, played hurling and football. David also had loving parents, James and Carmel Brown. Portlaoise-born parents.
David has two siblings, Sarah and Conor. Laois beat Wexford on Sunday with his brother. James, their father, is a Laois County Fire and Rescue Service member and painter. Portlaoise loves them. Give the family privacy and visit us for updates as they grieve their son.
