Dwumfour, a Newark native, was selected to take her first position on the Borough of Sayreville council in November 2021.
She finished high school in Newark before earning a Women’s Studies degree from William Paterson University in 2017.
At the time of her election, she was purportedly a resident of the Middlesex County area for more than five years.
To provide her child a with better life, she madecidedo leave her hometown of Newark.
A few months after winning the council election, Dwumfour was listed as an honorable mention on InsiderNJ’s 2022 African American Power List.

Authorities said a 30-year-old councilwoman from Sayreville, New Jersey, was found dead in her car on Wednesday.
Republican councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour was discovered by police on Wednesday just after 7 o’clock with several gunshot wounds. Dwumfour, according to Middlesex County officials, was declared dead there.
CNN affiliate WABC reported that Dwumfour was shot in her car close to her house. According to the station, the automobile then raced down the road and hit many parked cars.
When informed of Dwumfour’s demise, Sayreville’s mayor, Victoria Kilpatrick, expressed her sorrow and sadness, saying she was “taken from us by a heinous criminal act.” she said that Dwumfour and her worked closely together on the council.

In a statement, Bob Hugin, the head of the New Jersey Republican Party, expressed his “horror and profound grief” at her passing.
